Obituary

Addie Bell Rayner, 81 of Bay Springs, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the Jasper General Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Bethany Baptist Church at Bay Springs, with services immediately following the visitation. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Eddie Brady and Bro. Justin Rhodes will officiate.

Addie Bell Rayner was a 1959 honor graduate of Bay Springs High School. After high school, she worked at NECO for 32 years until the plant moved. She was a lifelong member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She also loved sports and watching the Atlanta Braves. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. After retirement, she opened her own home daycare where she loved and cared for countless children, whose lives she impacted. She will be missed and loved by those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Enterkin, Sr.; son, Randy Rayner;  father, Allen Rayner;  mother, Bettye Boyd Rayner;  brothers, Clyde Rayner, Clinton Rayner, Udell Rayner, Jack Rayner, Ernest Rayner, Clifton Rayner and W.C. Rayner;  sisters, Irene Warden, Arene Ladner and Betty Hayes;  grandson, Austin Rhodes.

Survivors include her daughter, Becky Rhodes (Wayne) of Bay Springs; one sister, Bobbie Holt; two grandsons, Justin Rhodes (Christie), and Bo Rayner (Gretchen); one granddaughter, Amanda Pippen (Jonathan); her great grandchildren, Jake Pippen, Maddox Rhodes, Jadyn Pippen, McKenzie Rhodes, Mylie Rhodes, Dixie Rayner, JonTruman Pippen and Randa Rayner; a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bo Rayner, Jonathan Pippen, Jake Pippen, Maddox Rhodes, Shorty Barnes, and Chad Odom.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jadyn Pippen, McKenzie Rhodes, Mylie Rhodes, Dixie Rayner, JonTruman Pippen, and Randa Rayner.

Special music will be performed by her nieces, Sharlene, Tammy and Kimberly, and her grandson, Justin, and two great-granddaughters, McKenzie and Mylie.

The family wishes to acknowledge with grateful appreciation Mrs. Addie Bell's caretakers, whom she dearly loved during her time at Jasper General Nursing Home.
