Alfred Bertran McCarty, aged 92, of Louin, MS, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. Born on August 25, 1932, in Jasper, Mississippi, Alfred lived a full life dedicated to his family and passions.

Alfred enjoyed spending his time tending to his cattle, dancing, gardening, and working on his homestead. He was a beloved father to his son, Blaine McCarty, and daughter, Beth Welborn. He was also cherished by his four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Maybelle McCarty, his brothers, Walter McCarty, Jr., Voncille McCarty, and Horace McCarty, and his sisters, Loretta James, Oneita Cook, Izetta Noel, Evetta Schifano, and Anastasia McCarty.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in McCarty Cemetery in Louin, Mississippi, with Bro. Terry Sanders officiating. The arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs.
