Katie "Ann" Dykes, 68, of Stringer,MS, passed away March 18 ,2017, at her home surrounded by her family. She fought a tremendous battle of cancer and heart problems with faith, grace, dignity and strength trusting in the Lord. She was born May 8,1948, in Laurel, MS.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 20, 2017, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs MS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, MS. Burial to follow at Fair Ridge Cemetery in Stringer, MS.

Mrs. Ann was a devout Christian and a member of Stringer United Methodist Church in Stringer. She truly loved the Lord with all her heart and was a cheerful display of hope, faith, strength, and grace to all who knew her. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Emma Doris Cook, and grandparents Spurgeon and Ruby Poore.

Survivors include her husband and sweetheart of 46 years Larry Dykes, Stringer, MS; son, Shane and Kerri Dykes, Stringer,MS; son- in- law and daughter, Wade and Shana Hosey, Stringer, MS; grandchildren, Josh and Brittany Dykes, Laurel, MS; Jared Hosey and Abby Grace Hosey, Stringer,MS; great grandson, Jaylon Dykes, Laurel,MS; mother- in- law, Jewel Ruth Dykes, Stringer, MS; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Carolyn Dykes, Stringer,MS; nephew and niece, Chris Dykes, Stringer,MS; Gabe and Julie McNeil, Stringer, MS; and great nieces Paige and Aubree McNeil, Stringer, MS; brother, Irvin Cook, Laurel, MS.

Pallbearers were Shane Dykes, Wade Hosey, Josh Dykes, Jared Hosey, Chris Dykes, and Gabe McNeil. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry Dykes, Glenn Drinkwine, Tommy Grant. Billy Rayner, Glenn Myers, Paul Myrick, Richard Hosey, and Johnny Rowell.
