Ava Bufkin, 55, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, January 15, 1966 in Butler, Alabama.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs, Mississippi with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Ava Crosby and her brother, Leo Waites.

Survivors include her husband, James T. Bufkin, her daughters, Mary Ishee (Wilson), and Alysha Yelverton (Wesley), her granddaughters,  Mary Welch, Nevaeh Hilinski, Avonia Bufkin, and Alysha Yelverton, her grandsons, Timmy Welch Jr., Leroy Presley, Wesley Yelverton Jr., Lane Presley, her brothers, Lee Lamb and Earnest Walters and her sisters, Dianne Wilson and Lisa Waites.
