Bernice Blakeney Windham, 93, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Sunday, January 10, 2021, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, November 26, 1927, in Mississippi.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 11:30 AM at Bay Springs City Cemetery with burial to follow. Bro. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

Bernice was a member of First Baptist Church of Bay Springs. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, reading her Bible and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin Windham, Jr.; sons, Frank Windham and Curtis Mitchell Windham; parents, John and Dolly Blakeney; one sister, Quida Beasley; brothers, Kermit Blakeney, Cranford Blakeney, Lex Blakeney, Bill Blakeney and Joe Blakeney.

Survivors include her daughters, Gaye Horvat (Steve) and Jo Ann Thornton; grandchildren, Tom Segrest (Gina), John Allen Gilliland (Julie), Ross Horvat (Jenny), Leanne Riley (Josh), Jodi Boyd (Chris), Curt Windham (Jenny), Cody Windham (Crystal); and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her family.
