Bessie Lou Walker, 82, of Bay Springs, MS, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs, MS. She was born Thursday, February 5, 1942.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 12:00 PM Burial will follow in Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena Cemetery. Bro. Bill Walker will officiate. Mrs. Walker was a Godly mother that loved her family and her church.  Her light shone bright before others so that they were able to see her good works and know that she glorified our Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker, her son, Allen Walker; her parents, Noah, and Etoyle Westbrook; her brothers, Ernest Westbrook, G.W. Westbrook and Percy Ray Westbrook; her sister, Uni Faye Hancock, and two grandsons, Josh Grant, and Luke Walker.

Survivors include her son, Bill Walker(Becky), her daughters, Sherry Walker, Robbin Field and Tammy Nichols(Jason); her brothers, Dewey Westbrook, William Westbrook, Gain Ray Westbrook; her sister, Dixie Walker; 14 Grandchildren, and 19 Great-Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Nichols, Jared Nichols, Caleb Nichols, Sam Grant, Austin Grant, Cody Walker Zach Walker, and David Fulgham.

The family wants to offer a special thank you to the staff of Jasper General Nursing Home for the loving care of their mother. She loved the nurses and CNAs as her "grandchildren."
