Betty Jewel Sims, 92 of Bay Springss, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her sister's home.

In honor of her wishes, private services will be held.

She was born November 27, 1930 in Bay Springs, and was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. She was a Christian by faith and affliated with New Liberty Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Sims was a retired store manager for Chadwick's Variety in Bay Springs. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sims;  her parents,  Derwood Dowell and Novie Upton Murphy;  four brothers, Junior Murphy, Herman Lee Murphy, Kenneth Murphy and Ralph Murphy;  and sister, Frances Murphy.

Survivors include her sister, Miriam Green of Bay Springs and a host of nieces and nephews.
