Betty Joyce Smith, 79, of Raleigh, Mississippi, died Monday, April 16th, 2018 at her residence. She was born Wednesday, September 7, 1938 in Smith County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Jesus Name Church in Sylvarena, MS. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 19th, 2018 at 1:30pm at the Jesus Name Church in Sylvarena, MS. Bro. Bill Walker will officiate. Interment will be in the Jesus Name Church Cemetery. Mrs. Betty was a devout believer who loved her Lord and her family. When able, she faithfully attended church at the Jesus Name Church in Sylvarena. When her health failed and she was no longer able to attend church, her greatest desire was to be with the Lord. She was a loving wife to her husband, Rudolph and a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be sorely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Perry "P.W." Westbrook and Clara Matthews Westbrook and by her husband, Rudolph Smith.

Survivors include her children, Ronnie Smith (Thelma), Raleigh, MS; Kathy Green (Mike), Louin, MS, Cindy Ethridge, Raleigh, MS, and Michael Smith (Doris), Raleigh, MS; brothers, C.J. Westbrook (Jean), Raleigh, MS, L.J. Westbrook (Lou), Bay Springs, MS and Morris Westbrook (Opaline), Raleigh, MS; 13 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Beau Hand, Shane Hand, Bryan Hand, Stephen Hand, Kenneth Smith, Marcus Smith, Lee Ethridge, Rusty Ethridge and Jonathan Ethridge.
