Billy Hill Stringer, 92 of Bay Springs, MS passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his home in Sylvarena.    He was born Saturday, August 16, 1930 in Sylvarena, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Sylvarena Baptist Church with funeral services immediately following.  Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery in Sylvarena, MS . Bro. Rusty Stockman will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements (601) 764-2181.

Mr. Billy served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church.  He enjoyed raising cattle and setting hooks on the Tallahala Creek bank.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay H. Stringer; parents, Chalmer Stringer and Mattie McMullan Stringer; grandchildren, Paul Stringer, Jr., and Michael Wade Smith;  brother, Robert C. "Pap" Stringer;  sisters, Karlene Jones and Brenda Windham.

Survivors include his daughter, Gloria Spradley (James); sons, Paul  Douglas Stringer, Sr. and Stacey Stringer (Genia);  grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Stacey Smith, Caitlyn Stringer, Magen  Stringer, Jessica Tullos, Fisher L. Dupree, Haley Blackwell (B.J.) and Brandon Jordan (Brittnie);  great-grandchildren, Whitley Moss (Zach), Ashtyn Smith, Kyleigh Smith, Brayden Reid, Kaysen  Reid, McKenna  Reid, Lynlee Tullos, Brody Tullos, Stetson Blackwell, Brayden Jordan, Blaze Jordan, Bella Jordan, Koehn Baldwin and Brynsen Stringer.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Jimmy Stringer, Kevin Stringer, Craig Brown, Phillip McMullan, and Ronnie Joe Keyes.

Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Blackwell, Austin Hollingsworth, and Robin Smith.
