Billy Joe Walters Sr., 86, of Stringer, Mississippi, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, September 22, 1934 in Laurel, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Salem Baptist Church and the Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Stanley Doggett will officiate. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Kerney and Rena Walters, son, Billy Joe Walters Jr., brothers, J.K. Walters, Derwood Walters, Carlton Walters, sisters, Edith Easterling, Elizabeth Rowell and Elsie Herrington.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Walters, daughter, Cathy Phillips (Stanley), grandchildren, Jeremy Phillips (Whitney), Jacob Phillips (Emilee), Ben Walters (Marlene), Rikki Walters, great-grandchildren, Joe Phillips, Katherine Walters, Lauren Welch (Benjamin), Karley Walters.
