Graveside services will be held at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Bay Springs, at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, June 15, 2024, with Brother Leo Beatty officiating. Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Bobby was born on July 12, 1932 in Theadeville, Clarke County, Mississippi. He attended Crandall High School in Clarke County. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy serving as a radioman and top gunner on a P2 Neptune sub-hunter aircraft. After his service, he attended Mississippi State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electrical Engineering. He was hired by Northern Electric in Bay Springs to design electrical appliance controllers. There, he met his future wife-to-be Gwinn, and they were married in 1959. Bob then started work at Boeing working on booster rockets as part of the Apollo space program. Bob then moved his family back to Bay Springs, MS where he started his own air conditioning installation, repair, and wiring business. Close to retirement, Bob and Gwinn moved to Anchorage, AK where he worked at an engineering firm designing electrical systems for the State of Alaska and corporations operating in Alaska. After retirement, Bob and Gwinn then moved back to Bay Springs. Bob has spent the last couple of years as a resident at the VA Home in Oxford, MS.
Bob was a very loving husband and father. He will be greatly missed. Bob and Gwinn are finally back together and looking down upon us. May we all continue to hold him in our hearts and live up to his example.
