Mrs. Bonnie Ishee Grantham, age 90, and a current resident of Stringer, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at Jasper General Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Colonial Chapel in Bay Springs with services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Cemetery at Stringer.

Rev. Josh Chandler and Rev. Jimmy Dobson will officiate.

Bonnie graduated from Mossville School, Jones County Junior College, and Mississippi Southern College. Bonnie spent her life working for Jasper County with more than 50 years of service including Bay Springs High School, and the Department of Human Services. She enjoyed working in her flower garden. For many years, she was the choir director at Stringer Methodist Church. In 2023, she became a member of Stringer Baptist Church. She had a close relationship with the Lord.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Yelverton (Pete), Brian Grantham, and Myles Grantham; grandchildren, Chanse Yelverton, Tyler Yelverton, Canden Grantham, Daniel Grantham, and John Grantham and great-grandchildren, Vivienne Yelverton, Hayden Yelverton, Avery Yelverton, and Callen Yelverton.

Mrs. Grantham is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Grantham; her father, Judson J. Ishee, her mother, Cassandra Almedia Hosey Ishee; her brothers, Hascal Ishee, Joyce Ishee, Edward Judson Ishee and sisters, Agnes Matthews, Myrtle Terry, Myrtis Edwards, Earnestine Graham, and Bobbie Harris.

Pallbearers will be Chanse Yelverton, Canden Grantham, Daniel Grantham, Cody Windham, Joseph Chandler, and Aaron Suggs.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Stringer Baptist Church, and Nick Bunkley and Keith Moss.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
