Obituary

Cecil "Smith" Windham, age 87, entered into his Heavenly home at Jasper General Nursing Home on Saturday September 11, 2021. He was born on August 30, 1934, in Bay Springs, MS, to Rabon and Ada Smith Windham.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Louin Cemetery. Brother Keith Ulmer will officiate the service. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Bay Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

Smith lived in Louin, MS, most of his adult life. He loved and provided for his family through his strong work ethic. Early on, he was a dozer driver and also a welder for Ingalls Shipyard, then was a dairy farmer for many years before retiring as a chicken farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church Louin and had a strong relationship with Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers David Windham, Billy Windham, Hubert Green, J.M. Green, and Stone Windham, and his sisters Myrtis Sims, Lorena Sims, Uldeen Lightsey, and Francis Dixon.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Peggy Windham, his children Kevin (Lisa) Windham, Nancy (Bobby) Sykes, and Donna Jo (Paul) Matthews, his grandchildren Vicki (Tra) Monroe, Robbie (LeAnn) Sykes, Tyler (Kristen) Windham, Toby Windham, Sophie Windham, Patricia Mann, and Rachel Mann, as well as several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Nile Windham, Hudson (Josephine) Windham, and George (Carolyn) Windham, sister Gail Waites, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Sykes, Hunter Sykes, Preston Sykes, Tyler Windham, Toby Windham, and Tra Monroe.
