Charles Ray Smith, 80 of Bay Springs, MS passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at his Residence in Bay Springs, MS. He was born Sunday, February 01, 1942 in Raleigh, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs. Burial will follow in Jesus Name Church Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. Rev. Joe Hennington will officiate the services. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Ray was a hard worker, he enjoyed making people smile. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a police officer for 20 years and served two terms as Constable for Jasper County. He worked for the town of Bay Springs over the Gas Department until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise (Smith) Beech; father, Richard Smith; mother, Eva Irene (Hollingsworth) Smith; brothers, Rudolph Smith, Junior Smith and Fred T. Smith; his great granddaughter, Mercee Rhae Pitts.

Survivors include his sons, Roger Smith and Charles K. Smith and Richard Smith and Christopher Smith; daughters, Sheila Smith Windham and Irene Smith Lesniak; his 13 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; his brothers, Evon Smith and Wayne Smith.
Pallbearers will be Roger Smith, Charles Smith, Richard Smith, Dalton Lesniak, Ryan Windham, and Tommy Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Johnson.
