David Lon
Yeager
March 14, 1953 – November 1, 2025
David Lon "Max" Yeager, 72, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, passed away on November 1, 2025.
Max's life was defined by music — not just the strings he played, but the way he moved through the world. Music was how he prayed, how he celebrated, how he comforted, and how he loved. He had a gift for making others feel at home just by being in the room. Even after he began to lose the ability to communicate well, he spoke volumes with his joyful chuckle, a sound that could lift a heavy moment and remind everyone that love was still present.
Max leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured — a legacy of song, of laughter, and of quiet courage. His melody lives on in the hands that play the guitar because he mentored them, the voices that sing because he encouraged them, and the hearts that love a little softer because he did.
Max is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda, who remained his steady companion and closest friend. He is also survived by his children: Nicole (Brian) of Canyon Lake, TX, Jesse (Jennifer) of Coos Bay, OR, Rachel of Portland, OR, Rebecca (Jay) of Terry, MS, and Will of Bay Springs, MS; seventeen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. His siblings, Patti of Bay Springs, MS, Dot (Gary) of Belden, MS, and Robert of Wesson, MS, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends that will hold his memory close.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Lon Yeager, Hubert Edward Green, and Rose Marie Green.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs located at 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, MS; with funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM.
