To Papa D/Poppy,
Thank you for all the wonderful memories you have given us. I appreciate you always being there to teach me, listen to me, and raise me as your own. Together we thought we could conquer the world, and mostly we tried. What I admired most was your charming personality, your outlook on life, and your sense of humor. We are all so blessed to have had you in our lives and to have been loved by you. For that I will always be grateful. Here is a poem I wanted to share from Genie Graveline Entitled:
"Remember Me"
Remember me with smiles not tears,
For all the joy through all the years,
Recall the closeness that was ours,
A love as "sweet" as fragrant flowers.
Don't dwell on thoughts that cause you pain,
We'll see each other once again.
I am at peace…try to believe,
It was my time…I had to leave.
But "what a view" I have from here,
I see your face, I feel you near.
I follow you throughout the day,
You're not alone along the way.
And when God calls you… you will be,
Right by my side…right here with me.
Till then, I'll wait by Heaven's door,
We'll be united… evermore!
Love forever and always,
Chris, Jaime, & Amelia
My Uncle Duck was more than just an uncle, he was a second father to me, my best friend, and the best man I have ever known. He was someone to look up too and strive to be like. Duck was there for me during my childhood, my baseball days, all throughout my life, and I had the privilege to follow in his footsteps and work on the railroad with him. Uncle Duck was, and is, my best friend and I will cherish the time I had with him forever in my heart. Until we meet again, save a spot in heaven for me. I love you Uncle Duck! Love - Jordan
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mavis Grayson.
