Dorothy Jean "Boots" McNeil, 87 of Louin, MS passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh in Raleigh, Mississippi. She was born Wednesday, May 6, 1936, in Quitman, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, MS Hwy 18, Bay Springs, Mississippi.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Bro. David McNeil will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Mrs. Boots, as she was known, retired from NECO. She lovingly and faithfully served Calvary Baptist Church as music director for 58 years. She was a devoted mom to her four boys and found great joy spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Johnnie Northam; sister, Katherine Bealle; and husband, Waites McNeil.

Survivors include sons, David (Terri) McNeil; Mark McNeil; Clay (Peggy) McNeil; and Michael "Doc" McNeil; grandchildren, Bo (Casey) Watts; Dustin (Shelby) McNeil; Robin (Chad) Wilson; Joseph McNeil; Chris (Emily) McNeil; Josh (Brittany) McNeil; Christy (Britt) Tullos; Heather (James) Valentine; and Kolton McNeil along with twelve great grandchildren.

Grandsons will service as pallbearers.
