Dorothy Ann Walters, 76, of Sylvarena, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born on Thursday, April 7, 1949, in Raleigh Mississippi. Ann graduated from Raleigh High School and went to work with NECO in Bay Springs, Mississippi until her retirement.

Dorothy Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Walters; father James Paul "J.P." Blackwell, of Taylorsville; mother, Alma Viola Thornton Blackwell of Sylvarena; and brother, Paul Edwin Blackwell of Raleigh.

Dorothy Ann is survived by her brother, Kenneth Wayne Blackwell (Susan) of Hattiesburg;  sister, Georgia Dale Blackwell of Sylvarena; and step-son, Chuck Walters (Lisa). She also leaves behind her cherished niece, Melaine Leigh Blackwell Aultman (John) of Seminary; nephew, Kevin Wayne Blackwell (Laura) of Hattiesburg; great nephews, Jason Holliman of Colorado, Lane Blackwell of Hattiesburg; great nieces, Nicole Holliman Prestenbach (Adam) of Petal, Meagan Blackwell Reid (Tristen) of Sumrall. She also leaves behind her greatest blessings, her great-great nieces, Stanna Quiroz, and Davi Batson, both of Petal, and Collins Reid of Sumrall.

Serving as pallbearers will be friends and family.

Graveside services will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 1255 SCR 132, Sylvarena, Mississippi, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
