Egbert Latrelle "Shell" McMullan, 88 of Sylvarena, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sunday, February 24, 1935, in Sylvarena, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 22 E. 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvarena, Mississippi. Bro. Rusty Stockman and Bro. Rich Ables will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mr. Brett Lewis.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Mr. Shell was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

He served our country in the United States Navy.  He enjoyed working in his garden, hunting and fishing, family gatherings, but most of all spending time with his family.  He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Egbert Lowery "Jack" McMullan; mother, Edna Hancock McMullan; and brothers, Darrell McMullan, Lincoln McMullan.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Shelby Moubry McMullan of Sylvarena, MS; two sons, Phillip McMullan (Darlene) of Center Ridge, MS and Anthony L. McMullan (Liz) of Sylvarena, MS; two daughters, Allison McMullan Lewis (Brett) of Mendenhall, MS and Lorie McMullan Gregory (Jonathan) of Bay Springs, MS; seven grandchildren, Tyler L. McMullan (Abby) of Mize, MS, William Journagan of Sylvarena, MS, Ryan McMullan of Montrose, CO, Brianna Traxler (Brandon) of Raleigh, MS, Bryce Dupree of Mendenhall, MS, Joesph McMullan of Center Ridge, MS and Summer McMullan of Sylvarena, MS; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Hal Thomas McMullan (Barbara) of Sylvarena, MS; four sisters, Wanda McMullan Roberson of Sylvarena, MS, Madora McMullan Miller of Sylvarena, MS, Vera Mae McMullan Smith (James) of Sylvarena, MS and Patricia McMullan Williams (Mitchell) of Taylorsville, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tyler McMullan, William Journagan, Bryce Dupree, Joseph McMullan, Brandon Traxler, Jonathan Gregory, Stacey Stringer, and James Allen Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Hal McMullan, Ricky Roberson, and Tony Stiles.
