Emmie Lanelle Ashley, 80, of Raleigh, MS went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 08, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born Tuesday, January 28, 1936 in Mize, MS to Hulon and Estelle Arender. Mrs. Ashley married the love of her life, J.W. Ashley, on August 11, 1956. She was the mother of Stephen Darrel Ashley Sr. and Timothy Ashley.

Mrs. Ashley is survived by her sons, Stephen Ashley and Timothy Ashley; grandchildren, Kristen Andris, Stephen Darrell Ashley, T.K. Hofstetter and Cammi Ashley; great grandchildren, Dystin Ashley, Ava Andris and Jax Andris; sister, Daisy Wood and brother, Paul Arender.

She is preceded in death by husband, J.W. Ashley; father, Hulon Arender; mother, Estelle Arender; brother, Leslee Arender; sister, Dimple Jones; brother, Donald Ray Arender; sister, Alice Anding and sister, Mary Beth Hendricks.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh. and again Tuesday from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Raleigh. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Of Raleigh. Burial will follow in Liberty(Beezer) Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Ron Medlock, Rev. Eddie Bryant, Rev. Sydney Davis, Rev. Danny Dickerson and Rev. Don McMasters will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements. (601) 782-4544

Pallbearers will be Darrell Ashley, P.J. Sanderford, Sammy Sanderford, Davie Anding, Russ Clark, Marc Jones, Mike Jones and Ricky Bryant.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Wood, Alan Arender, Jimmie Dickerson, Mitch Dickerson and Trey Green.

Timothy and Stephen would like to thank everyone for the flowers, notes, calls, texts, thoughts and prayers. The love felt during Nell's Heavenly homecoming was more than we would ever expect.
