Erwin Jackie "Jack" White, 84 of Bay Springs passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:45 pm at Bay Springs Baptist Church, with funeral services immediately following at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Mike Anderson, Bro. Ed King, and Bro. Greg Kell will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. White was born Tuesday, December 14, 1937 in Pensacola, Florida. He was a graduate of Tate High School in Cantonment, Florida. A resident of this area of this area since 1966 to further his employment in the timber industry for St. Regis Paper Company. He established Bay Springs Forest Products, and later Raleigh Forest Products, which supplied wood products and lumber to a variety of customers in the South for twenty years and developed several properties. He was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Some of his favorite times were spent on Mobile Bay cast net fishing with family and friends. Mr. White was a father and mentor to many people in the community. He loved his family very much and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren brought him great joy. He leaves a legacy of faith and family and love.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Infant White; father, Ervin Elmo White; mother, Minnie Jernigan White; sisters, Joy McDonald and Doris Kell.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary L. Suarez White of Bay Springs; son, Edward J. White (Gina) of Bay Springs; daughter, Janice W. Tumblin (Zachary) of Bay Springs; brother, Larry White (Joan); sister, Rena Harrell; grandsons, Joshua White, Jonathon Tumblin and Keegan Tumblin; granddaughters, Michelle Hamil (Bryan), Marie Kennedy (Stephen) and Cully Hegwood (Noah); great-grandchildren, Brantley Hamil, Laurel Hamil and Evelyn Kennedy; great-great-grandson, Beau Hegwood.
Pallbearers will be Joshua White, Jonathon Tumblin, Keegan Tumblin, James Duncan, Brad Anderson, and Dubby Mangum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Hamil, Stephen Kennedy, Tracy Thornton, and Garrett Mangum.
