Eva Jeanette Valentine
(August 8, 1938 – October 5, 2023)

Eva Jeanette Valentine, 85 of Stringer, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023 at her residence.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 10:00 am until 10:50 am at The Rock Church at Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Rock Church of Taylorsville. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Pastor Mark Brady and Ms. Sarah Ishee will officiate.

Mrs. Valentine was born Monday, August 8, 1938 in Yazoo City, grew up there and attended school in Yazoo County. She was a longtime resident of this area for over seventy years. Favorite past times were playing cards, specifically spades, rook, and rummy. She also enjoyed planting flowers and gardening. Mrs. Jeanette loved her family and will be missed. She believed in God in all circumstances. Prayer and reading the Bible were consolation for her in her last days.

She was preceded in death by herusband, Cecil Valentine; son, Dewayne Valentine; father, Lonnie Frazier and mother, Dolly Ray Frazier.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Brady (David) of Stringer and Carolyn Parker (Lynn) of Louin; her son, Kenny Valentine (Shelly) of Sylvarena; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; she is survived by several siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Wilson, Josh Morgan, Hunter Wilson, Tony Valentine, Danny Phillips, and Chris Watkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tristan Simmons and Bryston Wilson.

The family wishes to acknowledge with sincere appreciation the staff of Gentiva Hospice, specifically Laurie Malone, Chaplain John Newbaker, Hailey Walker-Copeland, Heather Sullivan, and Melissa Stamm. Also, grateful appreciation is extended to the staff of Wee Care Adult Services.
