Ferrell Hugh Poole

Ferrell Hugh Poole, 77 of Sylvarena, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Monday, November 25, 2024, peacefully at his residence. He was born on Saturday, January 25, 1947, in Coffeeville, Alabama.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi. Bro. Phillip Burns will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Ferrell served in the United States Army from 1966 -1968 and later joined the National Guard Reserves.  He served on the Saraland Police Force after his service to the United States Army.  His true passion was trucking for over forty-five years.  He was a company driver for many years before founding JAFCAR Transportation.  He loved to drive and work on all the trucks.  He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Smith Poole; parents, Hueght and Ree Roberts Poole; brothers, Shannon Poole and Wendell Poole; and sister, June Poole.

Survivors include his four children, Beth Matthews Sullivan (John) of Raleigh, MS, Randy Matthews of Belton, MO, Sammy Poole (Donna) of Alabama and Heath Poole of Alabama; six grandchildren, Lee Sullivan (Heather) of Bay Springs, MS, Rebekah McCarty (Kolton) of Stringer, MS, Cody Sullivan (Kaely) of Laurel, MS, Kyle Matthews of MO, Curtis Poole of AL and Cody Poole of AL; four great grandchild, James, Mya Beth, Jayse and Ross; special friend, Emil McCraw; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Lee Sullivan, Cody Sullivan, Kolton McCarty, and Emil McCraw.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Barr and Guy Cheney.
