Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10:00 am at Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena Cemetery, 2881 SCR 128, Raleigh, MS 39153.

Bro. Rayborn Huff and Bro. Clayborn Huff will officiate.

Mrs. Matthews was a native of Smith County, and a graduate of Raleigh High School. She was a retired accountant. She served the Lord through ministry of the Old Home Place Mission.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Willie Mae Blackwell Matthews; brothers, Noel Matthews, Jr. (Mary), Carol Dean Matthews and Larry Matthews.

Survivors include her son, David Stringer of Raleigh; brother, Benny Matthews (Janie) of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Jean Matthews of Laurel, and Lela Mae Matthews of Stringer; .several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Tullos, Joe Blakeney, Stan Daniel, Leslie Tisdale, Nathan Yates, and David Stringer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ashley Davis, Ryan Daniel, Benjamin Matthews, Josh Matthews and Kerry Atwood.

There will be no visitation.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
