Obituary

Frank Cooper Duckworth of Canton, Georgia, was born to Lovard Lee (Hollis) Duckworth and Sandra Callahan Duckworth on August 17, 1964 and departed this earth on June 2, 2024.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Janis M. Duckworth, stepmother Jayne Walters Duckworth of Petal, MS, niece Shelby Norman of Roswell, GA, and a large extended family.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Jeana Duckworth Wyatt. Frank was raised in Pearl River, LA where he attended Pearl River High School.

He began his working career in construction with his dad and repairing small engines. He later became a Master Plumber for 30 years, and a Master Superintendent for 8 years working in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Frank loved his job and was so proud of his work on the Georgia Aquarium, State Farm Arena and countless projects that make up the Atlanta skyline. He was a member of His Hands Church Woodstock, GA. Frank dearly loved his family and friends. He was just one of those special people who truly loved life, had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. He had an infectious smile that could light up a room. He was a fantastic cook. Being a kid from Louisiana, his favorite meal to prepare was Chef Paul Prudhomme's seafood gumbo. Frank loved learning about anything. Among his many hobbies were traveling, scuba diving, hunting, attending craft festivals and cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers.

Above all else, Frank loved to fish and his happy place was definitely on the lake in his boat. Having developed genetic liver disease, Frank received a liver transplant in January 2023, which allowed for many months of renewed health and the opportunity to do the things he loved with family and friends. Unfortunately, he experienced complications that required retransplant May 2024. Frank was so grateful for the generosity of his donors. His family and friends are forever thankful for the blessing of organ donation and the lives touched through it.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 3:00 pm CST at Bethany Cemetery in Sylvarena, Mississippi, near the Duckworth family farm. Bro. Rusty Stockman, his dad's former pastor, will officiate.
