Bernice Gaye Wedgeworth, 79 of Louin, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Woodland Court Retirement Center in Newton. She was born Saturday, May 29, 1943 in Pineville.

Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 10:00 am at Pineville-Leaf River Cemetery. Bro. Davey Hammons will officiate.

Mrs. Wedgeworth enjoyed travelling with her husband, while he worked on the pipeline. When she returned back to Smith County, she enjoyed working on their cattle farm as well as cutting, raking and baling hay. She enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger, and loved her animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William  Wedgeworth;  father, Bernice Welch;  mother, Ola Smith Welch.
Survivors include her son, Robin Lott of Pineville; step-son, Bill Wedgeworth of Bay Springs; numerous step-grandchildren; cousins, Jimmy Smith of Pineville, Sue Rogers of Sylvarena, Judy Conn of Pineville, Merle Martin of Brandon, Tommy Smith of Pineville,  and Edith Dupree of Louin and numerous other cousins.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Smith, Jason Baker, Colton McNeil, Carey Sorey, Kevin McCallum, and Bo Maas.
