George Albert Dixon, Sr., 81 of Bay Springs, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, with funeral services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Brody McCool will officiate.

Mr. DIxon was a graduate of Heidelberg High School. After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He owned his own Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Business for fifteen years then became an Electrical Trades Instructor and retired from Forest-Scott County Career and Technical Center. Albert enjoyed fishing and watching dirt track racing and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Louin Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon's.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus J. DIxon;  mother, Helen Pittman Dixon;  step-mother, Frances Dixon and step-brother, Max Hendry.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beverly Smith Dixon of Bay Springs;  son, George  Albert Dixon, Jr. and daughter, Elaine Stringer (Eric), both of Bay Springs;  grandchildren, Madison Stringer and Mason Stringer;  half-brother, Jay Dixon (Sandee) of Stringer and step-brother, Barney Hendry of Bay Springs and step-sister, Maxine Williams (Lonnie) of Bay Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers will be Chad McCool, Matt McCool, Adam DIxon, Wakefield Gatlin, David Taylor, and Travis Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Anthony, Nile Windham, George Ward, and John Gaines.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
