George Merritt "Buddy" Chatham, 82, of Rose Hill, MS, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at his residence.  He was born Monday, August 17, 1936 in Rose Hill, MS.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Rose Hill with funeral services following at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in Green Valley Methodist Church Cemetery in Rose Hill.  Bro. Cody Bruce and Bro. Steve Pouncey will officiate.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merritt Todd Chatham and Ola Mae Lewis Chatham; sons, Jerry Todd Chatham and Gerry Alton Chatham and brother, James "Jimmy" Chatham.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Chatham; daughters, Susan Reynolds (Jimmy), Rose Hill, MS, Nancy Chamblee (David), Newton, MS, Ronna Nichols (Ashley Lewis), Rose Hill, MS; grandchildren, Dale Reynolds, Crissy Reynolds Bufkin (Heath), Erica Wedgeworth Dear (Ben), Brittney Hamrick, Ashley Hamrick; great grandchildren, Meribella Rose Bufkin, Mylee Reis Bufkin, Benjamin Ayden Dear, Merritt Alexander Dear, Steven Rhett Purvis, Michael Bryce Purvis, Holli Riley; siblings, Janice McAfee, Arlington, TX, Charles Chatham (Dene), Lake Eddins, MS, Cindy McCormick (Doc), Meridian, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the Meridian chapter of the American Cancer Society.
