Ivy Jean McKinley, 83, of Taylorsville, Mississippi, passed away, Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Jasper General Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Monday, October 24, 1938, in Monticello, Mississippi.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello, MS with burial to follow. Allen Peoples will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, reading and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max McKinley, first husband, Noel Thurman,  parents, C.A. and Nancy Jane Smith, infant daughter, Sheila Ann Thurman, brother, Henry Smith.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Thurman Cooper (William), Mona Thurman Pearson. Nancy McKinley Peoples (Allen), grandchildren, John Blakeney (Lacey), Shane Blakeney, Grace Noel Hijoe, Jason Hijoe, Mckinley Peoples, great-grandchildren, Alexis Blakeney, Kane Blakeney, Aiden Blakeney, Alyssa Blakeney, Shyanne Blakeney, Grayson Tuminello, siblings, Catherine Buchanan (Jewel), Patsy Foster (Tom), Charles Smith (Betty), Tiny Stevens (Jimmy) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Blakeney, Shane Blakeney, Jason Hijoe, and William Cooper.
