Jack Stanley Upton, aged 85, of Louin, MS, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Born on May 17, 1940, in Stringer, Mississippi, Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corp. He married the love of his life, Linda Armour Upton, on August 24, 1962, and together they built a loving family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, and his children: Lee Upton (Kim), Stanley McNeil (Marie), and Lynn Hoffman (Jason). He was a cherished grandfather to Laci McNeil Stanvitch, Jessica Upton Lee, Jamie Upton, Dylan Upton, Kynsey Upton, Richie Lopez, and Raegan Byrd Hodge, and a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Jack also leaves behind 11 step-grandchildren and 17 step great-grandchildren, as well as his half-sister, Lucy Scoggins, and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Shannon McNeil, James Howell Upton, and Anthony Keith McNeil, his parents, James Robert and Audie Sims Upton, and his half-siblings, Eddie Upton and James Robert Upton, Jr.
Jack enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as eating, riding the roads, working, reading, and spending time outdoors, but most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs, located at 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, MS. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location, with special music provided by Mr. Brandon Wilson and officiated by Bro. John Bowen. Burial will take place at Louin Cemetery in Louin, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will include Jamie Upton, Dylan Upton, Richie Lopez, Richard Lopez, Jim Upton, and Lathan Reid, with honorary pallbearers Craig Tally and Lucian Stanvitch.
Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs.
