James Welton 'Jimmy' Parker, 61, of Stringer, MS died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence in Stringer, MS surrounded by his family and friends. He was born Sunday, June 24, 1956 in Bay Springs, MS.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 18, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Edon Baptist Church in Stringer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Edon Baptist Church in Stringer, MS. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Stringer, MS. Bro. John Davis and Bro. Jimmy was owner and operator of Parker Processing and a cattle farm in Stringer, MS. He was a member of Edon Baptist Church. Jimmy loved his wife, family, and enjoyed spending time with friends, and he had a special place in his heart for children. He loved hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Virginia Parker, aunt, Evelyn Ishee, grand parents, Pink and Lottie Ishee, grand parents, Leonard and Oddie Parker.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Parker, Stringer, MS, daughters; Lacy Garrett, Stringer, MS, Jessica Akerman (Clint), Stringer, MS, Taylor Avera (Cole), Stringer, MS, Jamie Parker, Stringer, MS, grand children; Caitlyn, Colby, and Riley Garrett, Halle, Lawson, and Olivia Akerman, sister; Martha Sims (Billy), Pearl, MS, brother; David Parker (Donna), Stringer, MS, sister; Charlotte Sanderson (Chris), Laurel, MS, special friend/hunting buddy; Pete Yelverton (Cathy), Stringer, MS, aunts; Hattie Sherman, Pearl, MS, Myrtle Gambrell, Bay Springs, MS, Jane Robin, Taylorsville, MS, Lucy Parker, Taylorsville, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Keith Parker, Billy Jack Parker, Shawn McCallum, Chris McNeil, Adam Dixon, Warren King, Mike Ford, and Tyler Yelverton.
