Janis Newton, 77, of Stringer, Mississippi, died Friday, June 25, 2021 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, March 14, 1944 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs and the Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Bro. Corbey Jones will officiate. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donnie Hill, Jon Newton, parents, Eugene and Gertrude Windham, son, Glenn Hill, daughter, Missy Cherry, son-in-law, Billy Cherry, brother, John Windham, sister, Louise Bradley.

Survivors include son, Bruce Hill, grandchildren, Heather Davis (Houston), Corey Cherry (Courtney), Tanner Cherry, Hannah Crager (Thomas), Brandon Hill (Jessie), great-grandchildren, Harper, Brody, Luke, Kayleigh, Khloe, Kolsen, Raylee, Brenton.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Houston, Tanner Cherry, Randy Corley, Earl Bradley, Earl Bradley Jr., Ricky Shows.
