Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Liberty Baptist Church in Raleigh for Jerry Dee Gable, 81, of Raleigh, who passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in Raleigh, Mississippi.


Reverend Rich Ables and Reverend Stanley Doggett will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville. Special music will be provided by Reverend Stanley Doggett. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh will be in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church in Raleigh.

Mr. Gable was born on Sunday, February 23, 1936 in Smith County, Mississippi. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Gable was the owner and operator of the Gable Feed and Seed in Raleigh for forty one years. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. Mr. Gable proudly served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt Talmadge Gable and Virgie Blakeney Gable; and one daughter, Martha Shannon Gable.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Martha Jenkins Gable of Taylorsville; two sons, Jerry Sheldon Gable and Robert Shea Gable, both of Taylorsville; two daughters, Summer Deanna Gable and Jennifer Wayne Gable, both of Taylorsville; one brother, Curtis Lee Gable of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, Joey Gable, Matthew Gable, Samuel Gable, Samantha Gable, Haygen Gable, Karter Gable, Aidan Williams, and Ainslie Williams; and six great-grandchildren, Samuel Rhett Gable, Kyndell Grace Gable, Jordyn Matthews, Lyah Gable, Raiden Gable, and Andrianna Gable.

Pallbearers will be Scott Corley, Wilson Hallman, Ricky Baldwin, Michael Scott, Truitt Barnard, and Phil Barnard. .
