Jimmy Eugene Brown was born Friday, March 13, 1953, in Waynesboro to his parents, Willie E. Brown and Christine Brown. He was a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, and resided in Vossburg. He was educated in the Wayne County School System and furthered his education at Jones Junior College. After his college days, Jimmy was employed at various jobs and then began a professional career in 1976 with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, and retired as Captain of Law Enforcement, District IV. He additionally taught criminal investigation and interogation at the Mississippi Law Enforcement Academy. He retired in 1999, after 25 years of service. Upon retirment, he tree farmed and continued this until his passing. Hunting was his passion, spending his years perpetuating for wildlife. Jimmy passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at his residence in Vossburg at the age of 70. He very much enjoyed joking and aggravating those he loved, which gave him joy. Jimmy held very few people close, but those he did, were cherished.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Willie E. Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Rose Eason Brown of Vossburg; three daughters, Brandylan B. Bruce (Ryan) of Hattiesburg, Brandi Luke (Larry) of Vicksburg and Ashley Welch (Billy) of Brandon; mother, Christine Brown of Waynesboro; nine grandchildren; one brother, Dewayne Brown (Dana) of Ellisville and one sister, Rosemary Myrick (Mike) of Heidelberg; several nieces and nephews.
At his request, private family services will be held.
