Mr. Jimmy Dale Walker, age 82, and a longtime resident of Raleigh, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026 at Mississippi Care Center of Raleigh.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at First Pentecostal Church of Bay Springs, located at 246 Hwy. 528, Bay Springs, and continue until service time at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs.
Mr. Walker was born and raised in Mize, where he graduated from Mize High School. He then entered the military service with the Mississippi Army National Guard for six years. He worked for the Jackson Casket Company, Masonite at Laurel, where he retired, and then worked for Southern Industrial Contractors of Bay Springs for a second retirement. A favorite pastime was reading, especially Western novels by author Louis L'Amour. He loved sports, specifically the Ole Miss Rebels and the New Orlean Saints. Mr. Walker was a dedicated and faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Bay Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Bertie Walker; two brothers, Junior Tanner and James Walker; one sister-in-law, Bessie Lou Walker and two grandsons, John Wesley Walker and Jonathan Dale Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Dixie Walker; five children, Sheila Woodard, David Walker, Eddie (Freida) Walker, Prentice (Victoria) Walker, and Wendy (Wayne) Anding; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two siblings, Larry (Marcia) Walker and Cathy (Doug) White; one sister-in-law, Betty Tanner; several nieces and nephews.
Bro. John Bowen, Jr., will officiate service and pallbearers will be Daniel Morgan, Joseph Anding, Phillip Bailey, Noah Walker, Dalton Walker and Hank Walker.
