John Cooper Duckworth, 64, of Bay Springs, MS passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at his residence in Bay Springs, MS. He was born Wednesday, June 22, 1960, in Jones County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11:00AM until 1:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in 22 E 4th Avenue, Bay Springs, MS with funeral services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Jesus Name Church of Sylvarena Cemetery in Sylvarena. Bro. Bill Walker will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home Of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

J.C. attended Sylva Bay Academy until he graduated in 1978. He went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Southern Mississippi. J.C. spent the last fifteen years managing the Jasper County Co-op, where he enjoyed talking to the customers about all the things they needed and even the things that they did not. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a keen eye for gardening where he grew more than his family could eat. Although he had many accomplishments, his greatest joy was his grandchildren. (Pop Pop was the center of attention anytime his grand babies were around.) He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie Vanderslice Duckworth.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Westbrook Duckworth, his  father, Cooper Duckworth; children, Christi Smith(Devan), Hunter Duckworth(Katie), Mason Duckworth(Ashley), and Landon Duckworth; grandchildren, Paisley Johnson, Rylie Smith, Charli Smith, Caroline Duckworth, Cayman Duckworth, Caleb Duckworth, and Westyn Duckworth.

Pallbearers will be Spencer Stringer, David Stringer, Maken McAlpin, Robert Brady, Turner McNeil, and Josh Ishee.

Honorary pallbearer will be Braden Gray.
