Joseph Lamar Owens, 74, of Laurel, Mississippi, died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. He was born Monday, March 18, 1946 in Quitman, MS.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Johnson Cemetery with burial to follow in Johnson Cemetery. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

He was preceded in death by his father, William Coleman Owens, mother, Myrtle Missouri Allgood, son, Joseph Owens, sister, Dorothy Thigpen, brothers, Jackie Melton and Carl Burleson.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Ann Bean (Scott) and Linda Owens, sister, Marie Thornton (Donald), brother, James Owens (Ginny), grandchildren, Dylan, Amber, April, Krystal, Johnny Wayne, Candice, Robert and Arlington Jr.
