Obituary

Margie Faye Phillips, 82, of Louin, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was born Friday, January 26, 1940 in Louin, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs and the Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Bro. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

She was loved by so many. Known for her smiling face. Margie always had kind words for everyone. She adored her children and grandchildren all who made her days brighter. Her beloved Christmas potholder collection was a favorite for so many to enjoy during the holiday season. She was known to send friends a card just to brighten their day. Her candy bowl was always full for everyone to grab them a little sweet.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Phillips, parents, John and Hattie McClain, infant son, Harvey, granddaughters, Brianna and Kaitlyn Williams, son-in-law, Phil Kirby, sister, Beatrice Hicks, Brothers, Arnold, Houston and Delmar McClain.

Survivors include her children, Evelyn Kirby, Lynn Harris, Walter Phillips (Sheila), James Phillips, Sue Newbury (Bill), Cindy Knotts (Billy Joe), Sandra Holcomb (Mike), Marie Haigler (Donnie Ray), grandchildren, David Harris, Diane Beckham, Stevie Phillips (Lacey), Richard Phillips (Julia), Dale Phillips (Lindsay), J.D. Phillips (Ali), Eric Newbury (Theresa), Jonathan Knotts (Allie), Joshua Knotts, Jennifer Knotts, Amanda Hare (Danny), Thomas Ratcliff (Ashley), Blake Haigler and Jessica Haigler. Sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, sisters, Louise Boyd and Thelma Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Terry Phillips, Syndey Tally, Mark Ishee, Victor Hicks, Paul Walters, and John Daniel McClain.
