Margie Inez Upton Martone

Margie Inez Upton Martone, 70 of Brandon, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on Thursday, January 22, 1953, in Cleveland, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 746 CR 1725, Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church. The burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Brother Eddie Brady will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. 601-764-2181

Mrs. Margie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She was the ultimate "hoarder" because she might need it someday, and a person who loved country music and reading the word of God daily.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Frazier Upton, Sr.; mother, Elna Vernon Bustin Upton; brother, Cecil Upton, Jr.; and sisters, Beth Upton Walters, Jane Upton Thigpen, Dot Upton Walters, Nell Upton Rogers.

Survivors include her one loving son, Michael Todd Martone (Ingrid) of Bay Springs, MS; three grandchildren, Yamaury Velez (Hailey) of Prairieville, LA, Giovanni Martone of Los Angeles, CA and Samuel Martone (Kylie) of Meridian, MS; four great-grandchildren, Storm Velez of Prairieville, LA, Ocean Velez of Prairieville, LA, Adriano Martone of Williamsburg, VA and Mason Martone of Meridian, MS; three step-great-grandchildren, Kadence Craig of Atlanta, GA, Kyian Craig of Atlanta, GA and Emerie Craig of Atlanta, GA; one brother, George Upton, Sr. (Kim) of Hartselle, AL; one sister, Sandra Upton Tucker (Ed) of Brandon, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael Todd Martone, Stirling Walker, Cecil Walker, Lambert Henderson, Craig Evans, and Hayden Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Calhoun, George Upton, and Charles Long.
