On July 2 ^nd , 2022, Marshall Breland Green, 92, of Louin, MS passed peacefully from this earth into Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 71 years: Bernice Green; sister: Linda Windham; children: Mike Green (Kathy), Steve Green (Deborah), Karen Crosslin (Tommy), Marsha Lay (Keith), Beverly Alexander (Joe), and Shelley Jordan (Barry); grandchildren: Shane Hand (Jessica), Bryan Hand, Stephen Hand, Sharee Hayes, Ashley Dale (Connely), Thomas Crosslin (Ursula), Adam Crosslin (Sandra), Allison Anderson (Brad), Jessica Lohmeier (Jeffrey), Laura Johnson (Seth), Ellen Lay, Lukas Tubb (Leigh Ann), Katye Hill (Jeremy), Joe Frank Alexander (Holly), Elliott Alexander (Bayley), Jill Jordan (Adam), Meredith Potter, Molly Malone (Austin), and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John Marshall Green and Ebbie Green Griffin; brother: W.B. Green; sister: Shelley Coats; and his beloved grandparents: William and Susan Green.

Known locally as the "Banjo Man," Mr. Green lived a life filled with music, building stringed instruments and teaching music lessons from his banjo shop in Louin. For 29 years, Mr. Green was a member of the bluegrass gospel group, The Grassmen and played in festivals with notables such as Bill Monroe and Lester Flat. He sold his banjos to customers all over the world, and his musical legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the countless students he taught.

He will be remembered for his devotion to the Lord, love for his family, the unique nicknames he bestowed on each family member, his kind and gentle spirit, and the sweet bluegrass music he blessed us with throughout his life.

A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, July 7 ^th , 2pm, at Berean Bible Church, Bay Springs, MS.
