Mary Helen Garner, aged 79, of Raleigh, MS, passed away peacefully at her home in Flowood, MS on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Born on March 5, 1946, in Jackson, MS she was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother, "Nana" and friend.

Mrs. Mary enjoyed making memories with her grandchildren (and great grands), planting flowers in her yard, and playing card games with her family. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where she was the music leader for many years. To know her was to love her. She always had a smile on her face and was always willing to help anyone in need.

She is survived by her son, David Weathersby (Sarah); and 2 daughters, Melissa Weathersby (Eric McDonald) and Michelle Tebo (Darren); and was blessed with 16 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alex R. Thornton; her mother, Helen Dukes Thornton; 3 brothers: Bobby Ray Thronton, William C. "Bill" Thornton, and Danny Lee Thornton; and her husband of 32 years, Jimmy S. Garner.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Raleigh, located at 219 Sylvarena Avenue, Raleigh, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the same location with burial at Eastside Baptist Church Cemetery in Raleigh, MS. Bro. Stevie Hand will officiate the services.

Pallbearers will be David Weathersby, Darren Tebo, Eric McDonald, John Bruce, Will Scott, Hunter Gardner, Spencer Rucker, Tanner Grayson, and Alex Slade.

Mrs. Mary will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
