Mary Lee was born September 26, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Dr and Mrs GW Land of Louin. She was a graduate of Louin High School and Mississippi College. She began her career in New Orleans in the 1940s and retired from the USDA Soil Conservation Service in Jackson. She was married to the late Mack Davis for 34 years. She was a longtime member of Colonel Heights Baptist Church in Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Larkin (Mildred) Land and A.T. (Dot) Land both of Louin and her nephew Barry Land of Jackson.
She is survived by her nieces Brenda Land Heflin (Dave) of Louin and Gloria Land Blackwell (Buddy) of Huntsville, AL.
She was also loved by her great nieces and nephews, Chris Land (Amanda) of Jackson, Ashley Land Wakefield (Pete) of Orlando, FL, Spring Heflin Nunnelee (Ron) of Hernando, Amber Heflin Ockerbloom (John) of Charlotte, NC, and Land Heflin (Erica) of Missoula, MT as well as many great great nieces and nephews.
As the oldest member of our family, we often sought out her wisdom and advice. She loved spending time with her family, friends and church family. She was always generous and had a smile for everyone. She would say often "It's just as easy to smile and it is to frown".
Special thanks to Dr. Holland Addison and her caregivers over the last 3 years, Lucy Johnson, Jeraldine Peterson, Dorothy Lewis, Ellen Shirley, Shirley Hughes, Jonnie Gladney, and Jamie O'Brien.
