Mrs. Mary Ann Riley, age 88, of Stringer, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. She was born Thursday, August 27, 1936 in Jasper County.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs with services immediately following in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Moss Memorial Gardens. Bro. Mike Anderson will officiate.

Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and a member of Stringer Baptist Church. She served alongside her late husband, Bro. Bill Riley in his ministry for many years. Mrs. Mary Ann enjoyed camping and visiting with friends and family, never meeting a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bill Riley; one son, Kenneth Dewayne Riley; her parents, John Risher and Myrtle Annie Lowe Horne; two grandchildren, Meagan Linn Riley and Ashley Riley and two sisters, Sarah Lee Horne, and Hazel Horne Agnew (Fred), and one brother-in-law, Thomas Lee.

Survivors include her son, John Riley, (Connie Brewer) of Soso; two grandchildren, Daniel Riley (Carie) and Duncan Riley (Megan), both of Stringer; four great grandchildren, Hunter, Logan, Harlee, and Willow;  two daughters-in-law, Kim Cook and Paulette Riley, both of Stringer; one sister, Martha Horne Lee of Bay Springs, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Riley, Duncan Riley, Hunter Riley, Logan Riley, Craig Lee, and Shannon Lee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Ray Smith and Bruce Riley.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements.
