Mary Frances Yelverton Shelby, 93, of Taylorsville, MS died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Mississippi Care Center in Raleigh, MS. She was born Saturday, October 27, 1923 in Jasper County, MS.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Bay Springs, MS. Bro. James Sprayberry and Bro. Keith Gordon will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs is in charge of arrangements. (601)764-2181

She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Shelby; father, Vernice Yelverton; mother, Onie Yelverton, brother, Sidney Yelverton; and daughter-in-law, Elaine Shelby.

Survivors include her son, Tim Shelby, Taylorsville, MS; granddaughters, DeMarla Butler (Tyrone), Taylorsville, MS and Heather White (Jon), Stringer, MS; 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Sybil Lewis (Lem), Laurel, MS, Dorothy Lewis (James), Brandon, MS and Jo Sherman (Gent), Pascagoula, MS; brother, Thomas Yelverton, Mt. Olive, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Tyrone Butler, Jon White, Dan Lewis, Curtis Anderson, Wayne Stonecypher and Tony Yelverton.
