Mary Dell Thornton, 82, of Ardmore, Tennessee, died Thursday July 5 ^th , 2018 at her residence. She was born Monday, August 5, 1935 in Raleigh, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in the East Side Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. James Sprayberry will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Thornton; parents, Herman Thornton and Sarah Elizabeth Thornton; siblings, Marion Thornton, J.B. Thornton, Donnie Thornton, Mack Thornton and Eloise Thornton.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Elizabeth Tillett (James), Ardmore, TN and Frank Smith, Fairhope, AL; grandchildren, Frankie Lee Smith, Huntsville, AL,  Denah Kaye Tillet, Tony, AL, and James Tillet IV, Ardmore, TN; siblings, Bo Thornton (Betty), Laurel, MS and Gloria Thornton (Robert), Jackson, MS.

Pallbearers will be family & friends.
