Mattie Hazel Robinson Thornton, 81, of Raleigh, MS died Friday, November 25, 2016 at Magee General Hospital in Magee, MS. She was born Monday, December 31, 1934 in Mize, MS.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Raleigh, funeral services will begin after the visitation. Burial will follow in Goodwater Baptist Church Cemetery in Homewood, MS. Rev. Bob Ivy will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Raleigh is in charge of arrangements. (601)782-4544
She is preceded in death by her Husband - Ray Byron Thornton; Son - Anthony "Tony" Ray Thornton; Parents, W.E. Robinson and Minnie Robinson; 2 Sisters and 5 Brothers.
Survivors include her Son-Terry Thornton (Lynette Brice), Saucier, MS, Sister - Ola Wilborn, 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joey Gable, Austin Overstreet, Jody Gunter, Clayton Thornton, D.J. Brown, Curtis Thornton, Steven Thornton,
