Maxine Rayner Yawn
(February 16, 1945 – February 16, 2024)

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024, at Colonial Chapel of Bay Springs, for Maxine Rayner Yawn, 79 of Bay Springs, who passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Interment will be in the Bay Springs Cemetery.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Yawn was born on February 16, 1945 in Bay Springs, Mississippi to Slater and Sue Ellen Rayner She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Yawn was a homemaker by trade. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Yawn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Slater and Sue Ellen Rayner; two sisters, Mary Helen Williams, and Pauline Shows (Randy); one niece, Sonya Knight; and one nephew, Guy Shows.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-two years, Ernest Steven Yawn of Bay Springs; two sons, Stacy Smith and Kyle Smith (Debbie), both of Bay Springs; one brother, S.L. Rayner (Mary Ann) of Flora; one sister, Dorothy Bardin (Jimmy) of Brownsville; three grandchildren, Austin Smith (Natalie), Rusty Smith (Samantha), and Sawyer Smith; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
