Mildred Heard, 90, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Saturday, February 23rd at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, October 2, 1928 in Bay Springs, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs with funeral services at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Enon Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Abram Atchison will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (601) 764-2181

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Heard; parents, Henry and Carrie Sims, son, James Heard, II; brothers, Adam Sims, Eddie Sims and Howard Sims; sisters, Bettie Thompson , Annie Dixon, Annette Stockman and JoAnn Tisdale .

Survivors include her son, Stephen Heard (Pam); granddaughters, Melissa Avary (Marc) and Sarah Rogers (Hunter), grandsons, James Heard and Trey Heard (Olivia); 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Marc Avary , Jay Heard, Mason Avary , Gary Sims, Dennis Stockman, and Mallory Avary .
