Minnie 'Penny' Lee Downs, 89, of Bay Springs, Mississippi, died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, Mississippi. She was born Friday, April 18, 1930 in Jasper County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs in Bay Springs, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs and the Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Downs, parents, Robert Lee and Vivian Upton, daughter, Norma Faye Downs Sims, brothers, J.C. Upton, James Upton, Elbert Upton, sisters, Anna Hendry, Florence Phillips.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Ravenhorst, Carolyn Wilson (Judson), son-in-laws, Jim Sims (Mabel), Mark Ravenhorst, grandchildren, Corey Downs Ravenhorst (Melody), James Roy Sims, Samuel Sims, Jessie Campbell (Ben), great-grandchildren, Dustin, Julie and Hunter Roy, brother, Jerry Upton, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will Corey Ravenhorst, James Roy Sims, Ben Campbell, Samuel Sims, Tim Upton, and Bobby Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Gwathney.
