Minnie Nell Lightsey Stockman, also known as Mama, Nanny, Aunt Minnie, and let's not forget Teacher, Mentor and Friend. Her 93 years on this earth was well spent; there's absolutely no way in knowing just how many lives her life impacted in a very positive way. She could be tough as nails when she needed to, or as gentle as a baby's breath. She worked harder than most men ever will, and yet she knew where the work stopped and the fun should begin. She was a fulfillment of John 13:34, where Jesus said, "Love ye one another even as I have loved you."

Her Lord and her family is what kept her world turning and she spent her life serving both. No one could cook or make cakes like Nanny – just ask the grandkids. She will be missed greatly! She loved a lot and was loved a lot by many. Because of her example, many will take up the torch and live out her life's verse: Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." She leaves a legacy; we who knew her are blessed.

Ms. Minnie is preceded in death by her husband, George A. Stockman; her parents, Fred and Lois Lightsey; her brother, Fred Lightsey; and her sisters, Myrle Sims, Jean Pierce, Eva Jones, Martha Hopper.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Sammy Stockman (Teresa) of Bay Springs, MS; her daughters, Sandra Cole (Jim) of Bay Springs, MS and Tammy Crosetti (Dave) of Brandon, MS; her sister, Jeanette Davis; ten grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Eric Cole, Duane Cole, Dustin Cole, Rusty Stockman, Joel Twist, and Matt Crosetti.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Ms. Minnie's memory to the Lottie Moon Offering, addressed at 515 Mississippi Street, Jackson, Mississippi 39201
